At least two people have drowned at Keokuk-Hamilton Dam this year, while several others were rescued in at least three separate incidents at the site. A friend of one of the victims (Bryan Sage) is working to raise boaters' awareness of hazards around dams, and is working with ASDSO members Ken Smith (Indiana DNR) and Paul Mauer (Illinois DNR), as well as local officials and representatives of the Iowa DNR, USACE and FERC.
