Hydraulic Engineer

Karl has been a hydraulic engineer at the USDA-NRCS National Design, Construction and Soil Mechanics Center in Fort Worth, TX for 11 years. In addition to reviewing hydrologic and hydraulic features of designs of large NRCS dams around the nation, he provides NRCS technical assistance, support and training for SITES and WinDAM software. He has worked for the Natural Resources Conservation Service for 36 years.

Jon Fripp

Stream Mechanics Engineer

Jon Fripp has worked for the last 18 years as a civil engineer with National Design, Construction and Soil Mechanics Center of the United States Department of Agriculture’s Natural Resource Conservation Service. Prior to employment with the NRCS, Jon Fripp worked for the US Army Corps of Engineers and in the private sector. Jon’s expertise is in the planning, analysis and design of hydraulic structures including levees, dams, stream restoration and flood control projects. Jon has worked throughout the United States and on various assignments abroad. Jon is the lead for the NRCS HECRAS team and has taught numerous classes in ecology, irrigation, construction, restoration and various aspects of hydraulic design and analysis.
