State Workshop
North Dakota State Dam Safety Workshop






The Association of State Dam Safety Officials (ASDSO), in conjunction with the North Dakota Department of Water Resources, invites you to participate in a one-day Dam Safety Virtual Workshop. The workshop will be held on June 29, 2022, in a virtual format using the Zoom Meeting and ASDSO online platform.  

The workshop is designed to provide practical, straightforward information on topics of importance to dam owners and those with an interest in dams. The purpose of this one-day workshop is to provide education/information on the following topics:

  • State dam safety laws and regulations
  • Extreme storm events and potential dam failure conditions
  • Owner responsibilities/liabilities and security issues
  • Dam operations, maintenance, and inspections
  • Developing and implementing emergency action plans
  • Potential cost and sources of funding for dam repairs
  • Procedures for retaining a professional engineer

While the virtual workshop is free, all attendees must pre-register for the virtual workshop. Register online now or download the registration form

The workshop will start at 8:30 a.m. - and end at 4:30 p.m. Central Time. Information will be available throughout the day and you will have the opportunity to meet and network with your state dam safety officials, well-known experts in the field of dam safety, other dam owners and others with an interest in dams. You will also receive electronic access to the materials.
