Describes use of Hydroplus fusegate system at Lyell Dam.
" Hydroplus, a French technology is used in Australia at Lyell Dam, south of Lithgow. Six straight-crested concrete fusegates are installed on top of the spillway at Lyell Dam. The design of the fusegates allows dam protection during massive floods. Maintenance of fusegates will consist of a periodic inspection program for the fusegates and the spillway."
