Abstract/Additional Information

After the impoundment of the Three Gorges Reservoir, the analysis of landslide deformation under the Dam operation has some significance to avoid or predict landslide hazards. A landslide on the north bank of the Yangtze River in the Three Gorges Reservoir area was surface investigated and monitored by the GPS. There was some obvious partial large deformation or collapse of surface deformation phenomena in the front of the landslide. Monitoring data of cumulative horizontal displacement indicated that the front part deformation of the landslide was greater than the middle and back part. And the reservoir water fluctuation was the main factor for the landslide deformation, especially the drawdown. Therefore, more attention should be taken to the landslide on the decline of reservoir water level in the Three Gorges Dam operation process. 2013, EJGE.
