Abstract/Additional Information
Responses to the following inquiry from the states and the Portland Cement Association: "The Commonwealth of KY Dam Safety Section would like to solicit information from other states on their regulations and policies concerning linings on earthen embankments. KY regulations currently prohibit any lining on the downstream slope of the dam for the purpose of allowing the dam to overtop. We would like to know how other state dam safety programs feel about this situation. This subject came about when one of the dam owners wanted to allow overtopping in lieu of raising the height of the dam to satisfy out hazard criteria."
