Paste the answer to dam problems

Improvements in mining technologies and extraction techniques have made it possible to profitably extract metal from grades of ore containing metals at levels as low as grammes per tonne. This has led to an increase in the amount of waste material produced, and the number and size of 'tailings' ponds required to treat the waste.
