Abstract/Additional Information
The use of roller compacted concrete (RCC) to raise the height of the San Vicente gravity dam by up to 30 meters is presented. The project is an emergency water storage project which is designed to remain operational in the event of a major seismic event. Design aspects of the project are also discussed. It was concluded that RCC use will minimize construction costs and save time.
