Abstract/Additional Information
The city of San Jose, California, recently completed phase II of the Senter-Monterey Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation project. The project involved sliplining 7,300 ft pf 27- and 30-in severely corroded, reinforced concrete pipe with smaller diameter pipe using current trenchless technology, including standard access pits. Interestingly, one portion of the line was sliplined without an access pit. The project demonstrated that short-length, segmented polyvinyl chloride liner pipe can provide a viable, cost-effective solution for areas with limited access and an economic solution for rehabilitating short segments of sewers.
