Abstract/Additional Information
This technical release presents a method for estimating key characteristics of the floodwave generated by the sudden breaching of a dam. These characteristics are the peak flood flow Qo at a predefined location in the path of the floodwave, the associated maximum depth of flow do, and the time lapse to between the breaching of the dam and the occurrence of the above two extremes.
