Abstract/Additional Information
Thirty-Three states responded. Ten regulate coal mine tailings dams. Ten did not regulate these dams or they were regulated by another agency within the state. Five did not have coal mine tailings dams. Thirteen did not have coal mine tailings dams but responded that they would regulate them if there were any.
