Survey of states for USSD Tailings Dams Workshop, held August 24-25, 2011 in Denver, Colorado. Results presented by Rob Martinez, chief of Engineering & Dam Safety with the Nevada Division of Water Resources. Of the 39 states that responded to the survey, 34 indicated that the state regulates tailings impoundments, and 25 indicated that the state dam safety program performs regulatory duties for tailings dams. The survey also collected information on types of tailings dams regulated by state dam safety programs. 23 pp. survey summary available in Members section of ASDSO website.
