State dam safety program responses to the following question: Are you aware of any governing body in your state that has created some sort of special taxing district at a dam/reservoir where the funds collected would be for the rehabilitation of the dam? A county in Georgia is investigating creating special tax districts to assist homeowner associations with a funding mechanism to rehabilitate existing dams.
