Information request from Arizona:

The AZ State legislature is considering House Bill 2608 which pertains to Dam Safety. As per language in the current version of the Bill, H.B. 2608 establishes a dam safety study committee (committee) consisting of members of the legislature and the director of the Arizona Department of Water Resources. The committee is required to meet and consider and collect information on the status of dams in this state with respect to their safety, age and need for maintenance. The committee must submit a report of its findings on or before December 31, 2019 to the governor, the speaker of the house of representatives and the president of the senate.

1) Do other States have a requirement to establish a similar Dam Safety Study Committee?
2) Do other State have such a Dam Safety Study Committee, even if there is no such requirement?
3) Do Federal agencies such as the Corps of Engineers or the EPA have a requirement that States
establish a Dam Safety Study Committee?
