Dam Safety Technology Roadmap

The Dam Safety Technology Roadmap updates the technical vision of the Dam Safety Interest Group and attempts to set priorities for future research programs and projects. Program areas are identified to provide dam owners and operators with reliable knowledge on dam safety issues and a greater capacity to share and transfer knowledge within the DSIG and more broadly with researchers, engineering practitioners, and academics to leverage influence within the industry. This white paper summarizes the views of project sponsors’ representatives in project workshops and correspondence. It intends to synthesize these views and to lay the basis for a group perspective on important technological and management research needs relating to dam safety. This draft also considers vehicles for collaboration amongst the sponsors, along with the need for training and capacity building.
