Non-intrusive methods for the monitoring of dams, such as resistivity and Streaming Potential (SP) have been significantly improved during the last decade and have been successfully adopted for dam investigations. However, these methods have generally been developed for other applications and have to be further improved. The project is based upon theoretical studies of internal erosion and subsequent leakage phenomena in order to identify the most fundamental of the geophysical parameters and their applicability to dam monitoring. This volume marks one of a series of reports on the subject of geophysical methods and their use in assessing seepage and internal erosion in embankment dams.
