The United States Corps of Engineers (USACE) owns and operates Isabella Lake Dam, which became fully operational in 1953, and is located about 35 miles northeast of Bakersfield, in Kern County, California. It consists of the Main Dam, Auxiliary Dam, and Service Spillway.
