Dean is a senior consultant and vice president at GFT with over 35 years of engineering experience as a geotechnical and dam safety engineer, having performed inspections, assessments, and risk analyses of over 700 dams. Dean is the past president of the US Society on Dams (USSD) and honorary vice president of the International Commission on Large Dams (ICOLD). As a co-instructor for ASDSO’s Inspection and Assessment of Dams seminar, Dean has provided training to dam owners across the US since 2012. The Inspection and Assessment seminar has been offered in more than 20 US states, as well as Saskatchewan, Canada, and virtually, to over 2,000 attendees.
