Dr. Anthony Konya is a mining executive and explosives engineer specializing in blasting consulting for locks, dams, and other critical infrastructure. With a doctorate in explosives engineering and more than a decade as an executive in the explosives industry, he combines technical expertise with an owner’s understanding of construction risk, cost, and project delivery. His consulting helps owners evaluate blasting plans, develop practical specifications, protect existing structures, and address vibration and excavation challenges. Through his consulting work and leadership at DetX, he brings field experience in complex blasting and structural demolition to projects where engineering decisions directly affect safety, continuity of operations, and construction outcomes.

Dr. Konya also built Konya Mining Company into a national mining business spanning aggregates and industrial minerals before selling its operating businesses in December 2025. He now concentrates on precious metals, industrial minerals, and critical minerals, pursuing an Africa-focused strategy that combines project development, technical evaluation, and investment structuring. This experience building, operating, and selling mining businesses strengthens the commercial judgment he brings to infrastructure owners and mining partners.
