Michael earned a BS in civil engineering and a BA in history at Lafayette College (Easton, PA) before getting his MS in civil engineering with a geotechnical focus at Virginia Tech. He spent most of his 5-year geotechnical engineering career working on foundations for transportation infrastructure projects, including bridges, culverts, and DMS structures. Michael is a licensed P.E. in Pennsylvania, where he resides near Philadelphia. Outside the office, he blogs about geotechnical history for ASCE’s Geo-Institute, sits on the board of the group’s Delaware Valley chapter, and enjoys reading and hiking.
