Abstract/Additional Information

Delhi Dam was breached on July 24, 2010 after two days of heavy rain in the drainage basin above the dam. This article discusses the dam’s history, the role of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources in forming and assisting the Independent Panel of Engineers to investigate the breach, the dam breach investigation process, the likely cause of the dam breach and lessons learned. 9 pp., 2 references.
