The Association of State Dam Safety Officials (ASDSO), in conjunction with the Florida Dam Safety Program, invites you to participate in a one-day Dam Safety Workshop, "The Need-to-Know Basics of Owning a Dam".  The workshop will be held on May 7, 2024, virtually.

The workshop is designed to provide practical, straightforward information on topics of importance to dam owners and operators and those with an interest in dams.  The purpose of this one-day workshop is to provide education/information on the following topics:

• Introduction to Workshop and Dams 
• FL Dam Safety Laws & Regulation
• Dam Failure Modes and Case History
• Operation, Maintenance, and Safety Inspection of Dams
• Developing and Implementing Emergency Action Plans
• Dam Owner Liability, Public Safety and Security
• Repair Costs- Hiring an Engineering Consultant, Costs, and Funding Options

While the workshop is free, all attendees must pre-register for the workshop by May 3, 2024.  Late registrations will not be accepted.

Access to the workshop will begin at 8:45 am and end at 5:00 pm Eastern Daylight Time.    You will receive electronic access to course materials.  We look forward to you joining us!
