Job Description: The person in this position will work on a variety of geotechnical engineering consulting projects, with emphasis on work related to dams, flood control projects, and hydraulic structures. In addition to providing technical expertise and engineering oversight of geotechnical investigations, numerical modeling, analysis, and design, this person will also be involved in preparing plans and specifications for construction, writing reports, and cost estimating. Job Description: As the Hydraulic Engineer, you will work in dams and levees within the Department's statutory jurisdiction (Indiana Code 14-27-7.5 & 14-27-7).  You will work at a professional, independent level to analyze and review data, perform hydraulic and hydrologic assessments, create dam failure modeling and other IEAP documentation, for the Indiana Regulation of Dams, Indiana Flood Control Act, and the Indiana Lakes Preservation Act. This would include activities associated with dam inspections, recommendations, schedules for upgrades, and follow-ups on high hazard dams within the state‘s jurisdiction.
