Job Title: Engineering Specialist (Planner III/IV)

Description: The Eugene Water & Electric Board (EWEB) is seeking an experienced Engineering Specialist to join the dam safety program in the Generation Department. The program is to ensure safe operation of the reservoirs, canals, and dams of the hydroelectric projects in compliance with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) regulations. Experience related to hydroelectric civil infrastructure, earthen structures, and/or civil construction projects will be considered. General responsibilities include engineering evaluation and review, planning, scoping, consultant management, and regulatory coordination on projects and work items for EWEB’s hydroelectric dams and reservoirs. Job Title: Engineering Manager I - Dam Safety

Location: SLC, UT

Description: Under the direction of the assistant state engineer, the successful applicant will manage the Dam Safety and Stream Alteration Engineering Support Group consisting of the incumbent, an engineer, and an engineering technician to provide hydraulic, hydrologic, geotechnical, and structural analysis; technology support; instrumentation data management; and field camera operations to Dam Safety and Stream Alterations. The incumbent will play an active role in the design, evaluation, construction, and inspection of new and existing dams and provide regulatory oversight of the maintenance and repair on approximately 50 assigned dams. This is a working level job requiring minimal supervision. The incumbent should be able to utilize advanced training, experience, and independent judgment in the evaluation of complex engineering situations regarding dams.  They will provide technical support to dam owners, operators, and engineers, including during emergencies. Description: Carpi is 60-year old international company specializing in the design and installation of waterproofing membranes on hydraulic structures including dams, canals, shafts and tunnels. We are seeking a full-time qualified person with construction experience to assist in a 2-year project at El Vado dam near Chama, New Mexico. The project, being managed by Carpi for the US Bureau of Reclamation, will involve installation of over 220,000 square feet of PVC membrane on the steel face of the dam, backfill grouting of the void space between the dam face and embankment, foundation grouting, soil and rock excavation and various civil works, concrete plinth repair and grout cap construction and steel repairs to the dam face and welding of the geomembrane attachment system.
