Abstract/Additional Information
Piano Key Weir (PKW) labyrinth spillways represent a technical/economical optimization of traditional labyrinth weirs and can be an interesting option to increase the discharge capacity of dams. They can also be used to increase reservoir storage capacity. Unlike traditional labyrinth weirs, PKWs can be installed on top of most existing concrete dams. As free-flow spillways, they are simple to design and build, reliable, and require little maintenance.
