Abstract/Additional Information
Video draws upon Mr. Lowe's extensive experience and knowledge, and two case histories, to demonstrate the importance of filters in dams, foundations, and reservoirs. Special reference is made to Tarbela Dam in Pakistan. Mr. Lowe reviews filter requirements and develops a basis for understanding the evolution of cracks, trenches and sinks where these requirements are not fulfilled. He closes with lessons learned.
