A brief history of the performance of New Exchequer Dam during its construction (by dumped rockfill method) and for 22 years after, with a focus on the case and repair of leakage through the dam. Four rockfill zones in the dam placed without significant compaction. Fill near upstream toe was move than 100' deep. Face slab was placed during same time that rockfill was progressing. Settlement resulting from design and construction flaws affected joints of the articulated slab. 10 pp.
