Maintaining the appropriate level of security awareness is an important component of dam owners and operators’ overall security program. It enhances general situational awareness, improves vigilance, and better informs decisions regarding protective strategies as it can further the knowledge of potential consequences associated with manmade incidents. Moreover, security awareness can contribute to enhanced resilience of the facility, thus helping ensure its continuity and productivity even during times of distress.
