Abstract/Additional Information

The USDA, Natural Resources Conservation Service, (NRCS) Water Resource Site Analysis Software, SITES, has recently been upgraded to include new technology for analyzing earth auxiliary spillways. As a part of the continuing effort to upgrade the software, a user-friendly interface is also being added. The computational portion of the portion of the program and a beta test version of the first part of this interface are now complete. The current interface supports input of data for analysis of a single dam site, including evaluation of the auxiliary spillway. This paper discusses the expanded software and its use in conjuction with the interface, A preview of the forthcoming output portion of the interface is also provided. The interface makes the SITES software easier to apply than the DAMS2 software that preceded it. 8 pp., 9 references.
