South Fork Tolt Reservoir Intake Tower - Seismic Upgrade

The South Fork Tolt River Seismic Retrofit Project was precedent-setting in several aspects. The tendons used were extremely large, and may be the first ever used for strengthening a tower of this type. The alignment accuracy achieved for the tendon hole drilling and the method of installation, which involved use of a Sky Crane helicopter, were also extraordinary. Additionally, the retrofit was successfully accomplished usder full compliance with stringent environmental requirements in spite of restrictive access and limited workspace.
