Dam owners are solely responsible for the safety and the liability of their dam, so owners must be informed on all aspects of operating and maintaining a dam safely.
To make accessing guidance information easy, ASDSO has developed the Dam Owner Academy video series. The series is a free resource for owners and those conducting owner outreach programs, and each video concisely explores one critical aspect of ownership. ASDSO has also developed a series of fact sheets, many of which supplement the material in the videos.
In August 2024, ASDSO released three new entries into the series. The videos are:
Public Safety at Dams
Recommended Fact Sheet: Public Safety At Dams
Removing a Dam
Recommended Fact Sheet: Dam Removal
Dam Safety 3.0 & Recent Advancements to Improve Dam Safety
The previous videos in the Dam Owner Academy Series are:
- Dams 101
- Dam Inspections
- Spillways & Outlet Works
- Operation & Maintenance Plans
- Emergency Planning
