Designer label for Lake Lenexa

Construction of Lake Lenexa dam commenced in summer 2004 and was completed in 2007. The 15m high, 244m long dam was developed in accordance with stormwater management requirements. The project features a special spillway bridge, composed of a curved concrete section spanning the spillway just downstream of the ogee spillway and upper basin areas, and a bridge with a separate viewing canopy on a cantilevered section supported by drilled piers socketed into underlying bedrock. A spillway wall uses mechanically stabilized earth retaining wall systems which can accommodate multiple curves in the spillway design.
