ASDSO's Giving Program is your opportunity to invest in the mission and vision of ASDSO; to foster the growth of the next generation of dam safety professionals, provide support for owner and public outreach, and support the continuing professional development of dam safety professionals.
Through your past giving, you helped fund a number of programs that are at the heart of our organization's mission. The following projects were funded last year, in part, through the generosity of ASDSO supporters like you:
- Student Outreach, including funding for the Scholarship and Paper Competition programs and the Dam Model Competition
- State Program Support and Policy Improvement
- Public Outreach
Our 2024-2025 donor drive goal is ambitious; we are striving to reach $30,000 in donations. Every dollar helps and we are calling on you, our members, and supporters to donate what you can. Please consider sharing this request with your company, or organization, especially if they have a matching funds program.
ASDSO can assist you in setting up a recurring gift if that plan works best for you. An example of a reoccurring plan is pledging $240 for the year with $20 being charged to your debit or credit card on the first of each month. Plus, as a 501(c)3 organization, up to 94% of your donation is tax-deductible.
To honor those who give back to the organization, and the profession, ASDSO has created a donor recognition program to showcase those investing in the future of dam safety.
ASDSO recognizes donors in the Annual Report, online, and in the Journal of Dam Safety by the following levels:
- Benefactor - Donors who contribute more than $1,000 during the fiscal year
- Partner - Donors who contribute between $300 - $999 during the fiscal year
- Supporter - Donors who contribute between $100 - $299 during the fiscal year
- Friend - Contributors whose donations range from $1 - $99 during the fiscal year
This year, funding will be going toward several key initiatives:
- Student outreach including the student scholarship and paper competition
- The Dam Model Competition and additional awareness for public safety around low head dams through the Bruce Tschantz Memorial Fund
- Further research into innovative ways to fund the rehabilitation of dams
- Public outreach, including funding for implementation of a national public awareness campaign on low head dam safety
- State program support and policy improvement
Please help us reach our goal and support the dam safety profession. Thank you again for all you do for the dam safety profession and your continued support of ASDSO. Donations can be made through the ASDSO Portal or by calling 859.550.2788.
